Music to work to – Part II – On the Web

I polled all sorts of working professionals to find out what music they like to listen to while working! Hopefully this will inspire you to check out some new tunes during your workday :)

On the web (radio or podcasts):

DaTempo Lounge on SKY.fm, Classical Guitar on Sky.fm, Groove Salad on SomaFM, Secret Agent on SomaFM - Joy Gatewood Fulton, Regional Executive Editor for Web Content

XM PC access is really great for music at work. Personal favs are Lucy, 80s on 8, and XM Cafe – Lisa Wolfisch, IT Manager

I’ve been listening to Pandora… I’m a huge Dave Matthews and Coldplay fan. – Mindy Belcher, Wedding Photographer

Pandora.com. I can’t listen to it at work unless I’m working weird hours because it takes too much bandwidth :-( , but when I can, I love it. You create your own stations around artists or songs; my favorite station is created around Ian Anderson (of Jethro Tull, now working solo). They fairly recently added classical music, too; I have the Baroque station mixed in. The algorithm that creates the stations from your picks is formed around the Music Genome Project, which is fascinating in itself. - Caryn S. Wesner-Early, MSLS, ASRC Technical Information Specialist

I have Winamp, and I’ll listen to AOL Radio while I’m working. If I’m working on something that takes a little less concentration or is a bit more “fun”, I listen to a classic rock station (Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, etc.). For work that’s more involved or requires more focus, I listen to a classical station. Mozart really does make you smarter! – Kari Rippetoe, Content and Copy Writing Specialist

I listen to www.batanga.com or any of my own mix of Timba, Salsa, Reggaeton, etc. – Jennifer Gonzalez, content manager, web designer and SEO

I’ve found that for the past decade, I can only work to classical music now. Any other music just distracts me too much. I like to listen to WBJC 91.5. You can listen to it at work through their web site at http://www.wbjc.comKim Diamondidis, VP of a road construction company

www.bluegrasscountry.org and www.accuradio.com – Kathy Strauss, Chief Creative Officer/Creative Director/Photographer/Creative Nag/Designer
