Music to work to – Part I – Songs and Albums

I polled all sorts of working professionals to find out what music they like to listen to while working! Hopefully this will inspire you to check out some new tunes during your workday :)

Particular songs:

“Working hard for the money”, “Walking on Sunshine”, “Natural Gases – (I think that’s what it’s called…all instrumental..great tune). – Renae Gross, make up for brides

Laura Auer, Wedding Coordinator:

  • Jimmy Buffett (Migration, Presents to Send you, and Tin Cup Chalice are my top three)
  • Matt Costa (Mr. Pitiful and Miss Magnolia)
  • Jack Johnson (Bubble Toes, Mudfootball, and Sitting, Waiting, Wishing)
  • Jason Mraz (I’ll Do Anything, I’m Yours, and Lucky)
  • Queen (Seaside Rendezvous, Good Old Fashioned Loverboy, and You’re My Best Friend)

Oh I’d say the best work song ever written is Frankly Mr Shankly by the Smiths… http://www.lyricsfreak.com/s/smiths/frankly+mr+shankly_10218040.html
“…Frankly, Mr. Shankly, this position I’ve held
It pays my way and it corrodes my soul
Oh, i didn’t realise that you wrote poetry
I didn’t realise you wrote such bloody awful poetry, Mr. Shankly…”

My best working music consists of the many, many Final Fantasy soundtracks I’ve compiled in iTunes. Depending on my mood, I listen to various Final Fantasy piano compilations, or an “upbeat Final Fantasy” mix I created, or, my personal favorite, a playlist combining the music from Final Fantasy X and X-2. – Annie Lynsen, Manager, Online Content and Community Development

this great mix CD by DJ Miguel Migs called “Nude Tempo One”… I also love “The Best of Sade” - Shawn Bryan, Project Manager/Web Developer/Marketing Guru/Graphic Artist

Binaural Beats with Henrietta, Active Relaxation Clarity by Dr. Jeffrey Thompson - Joy Gatewood Fulton, Regional Executive Editor for Web Content

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post on Online Music, and Friday’s on Artists!
