Lexington Queen

When I first met Brad, he was planning to pick up his life in VA and move to Hollywood. He was going out to be closer to his friends Justin and Corey (both extraordinarily successful musicians) and get some work out there. You know, be a rockstar. Within a year Brad had a great tour, playing keyboard for Mason Jennings, and I think Brad would say that the whole experience was a really good one (at least something he learned from). Justin and Corey are now in a band called Lexington Queen – check out their MySpace page. Corey invited me to one of their shows in Charlottesville to take some pictures of the show.

There was about as much light in the Outback Lodge as there was in U Maleho Glena, the jazz club I frequented (read: survived in) in Prague. Charlie Slavik (of the Rene Trossman Band) in Prague:

Johnny of Lexington Queen, in C-ville:

All of these were taken at 1600 ISO, many at 1/15 or 1/20. They’re noisy and the colors are off, and I really like them. For example, Justin:

Corey:

The crowd, crowding:

September 2, 2008 - 11:53 am Tony - Great pictures. Shooting at places like Outback Lodge is always a fun challenge. Somehow those places manage to have enough sound equipment to be heard from the next town over but little or no lighting.
