Crash course in photography!

I had an overwhelming response to the blog post I wrote a few weeks ago where I described the crash course in photography for anyone who’s interested. This weekend I went to Old Town (in Alexandria, Virginia) for a really fun crash course with Aviva, who wanted to know more about using your camera for creative photographs, and to better understand how to make backgrounds blurry! Jamie also came along and was a totally great sport. Here are some pictures from the beautiful afternoon!

We went into the Sugar Cube (they were so kind to let us step behind the counter to take some photos!) and played with some short depth of field:
